Wow, I feel so bad, it has been almost a whole month since my last post but it has been all systems go here. Life got crazy again with school starting back which also means that scouting activities are back on and time disappears.

In my scouting life personally this term is particularly busy as we prepare to take our Joey scouts to Kangaree 2020. Charli and I will both be attending this year, it will be Charli's last activity with Joeys before she links up to cubs (I'm so sad). This will be my third Kangaree but it is the first 2 night event and the first one we have been allowed to camp in tents which is super exciting but adds a whole level of additional preparation. For me it is even more of a challenge as I am going to be the leader in charge of coordinating our entire district, 35 Joeys and 10 other leaders, bring it on!!

Continuing the theme of scouting consuming our lives this term, Elly made the decision that she wanted to try and complete her Grey Wolf badge (the peak award for Cubs) before we leave on our trip. I have to admire her drive, she has been plugging away trying to complete badgework every afternoon after school and on the weekends and she is almost there!

Outside of school, work, scouts, meetings, family events etc, occasionally we are finding some time to get packed. We had a big push forward this weekend, moving the majority of the furniture and many boxes out to the shipping container. We now have no table, no couches, the girls are sleeping on mattresses on the floor and I keep going to use something to discover that I have already packed it. While we do have a bit still to pack, I was pleased with the report from Dave that we still have about 1/3 of the shipping container to fill and less than 1/3 of our stuff left to pack.

The house has been listed for rent for the last few weeks and we have had several inspections. No tenants yet but hopefully in the next week or so we will have some success.

I would like to share 2 funny stories from the last couple of weeks. The first, which shows just how tired Dave is getting, was when he decided to knock off the job of finally putting a door on a cupboard we built in "the playroom". I was cooking dinner at the time and was listening to his curses as he fought with nails (his building nemesis) and struggled to get the placement of the hinges correct. Finally, he breathed a sigh of relief announcing that the job was done. That was, until I came to have a look and pointed out that he had managed to hang the door beautifully but upside down!!!

The second story stems from a request I made for Dave to stop into Aldi on his way home to pick up a couple of items. I have been running the fridge, freezers and cupboards down by using all I can and only buying bits to fill the gaps. Anyway, Dave finally arrived home and in his collection of goodies he had a bunch of flowers. I should point out at this time that Dave has never bought me flowers in the whole time we have known each other. I instantly asked "what did you do?" as is was so out of character to which he just laughed and replied "nothing, Aldi were giving them away for free and I knew I'd get a good reaction. Oh, and my record stands, I still haven't bought you flowers". Fair call. They were pretty though.

To finish I would like to share a Bluey funny that we made by accident yesterday while packing. I discovered an interesting pair of purple Barbie glasses under some furniture and I had a sudden inspiration. I called to the girls to bring the Bluey figurine we own and the glasses fit perfectly. Instant Bluey Granny! And instant world war 3 over who would take the photo of Bluey. Grannies would have to be our favourite episode so far.

Official countdown:

Days until we leave: 28!!!

Days left of work: 17!

Boxes packed: No bloody idea anymore

Times we have worried we won't be ready in time over the last month: 50
