We have now been in Kununurra for a whole week and we are halfway through our 14 day isolation period. Is it tedious? Yes. Is it frustrating? Yes. Are we still trying to make it fun? Absolutely.

Constantly being stuck in the same spot with only limited entertainment options does tend to get a bit like groundhog day but we are trying to change things up and make this time as painless as possible.

We are extremely grateful for our wonderful park manager here and I'm going to give them a plug because they have looked after us so well at Ivanhoe Village Caravan Resort. We have a large space to use so we don't feel too cramped although we are absolutely hanging to get out of the fenceline and explore the town.

Our daily swim time is between 1 and 2pm and it would have to be the quickest hour of the entire day. The girls have been diving for toys, practising their snorkelling skills, pretending to kneeboard on a boogie board, shooting each other with a water gun and we had a great game of piggy in the middle.

Where possible we try to include some "school time" to keep the girls busy and give them something to concentrate on. We have been reading together so ploughing our way through the Narnia series.

Other forms of entertainment have been card games, twister, bike riding, practising hair styling skills, exploring our area for interesting items (like the seed pods we found today), plus of course the mundane tasks required for day to day life such as cooking, dishes, washing and general tidying up. We even found a way to set up a movie space using the grill door as a stand for the screen.

Dave has been able to complete a few little odd jobs for the park manager, especially fixing her chainsaw, but he is so bored that he is actually reading a book and is over halfway through. For anyone that knows Dave this is unheard of! The girls are starting to get sick of being cooped up with each other and have gotten their swags out, setting them up as far away from each other as possible.

We are surrounded by lots of wildlife and love to watch the birds around us, especially the eagles that enjoy circling overhead each day. We have found a giant grasshopper, a cane toad, a stick insect and a green tree frog living in our toilet.

We are counting down each day until our release and are looking forward to our sunset cruise on Lake Argyle that we have booked for the day after isolation finishes just so we can celebrate being able to leave the park for the day.

7 days to go!!!!
